%u201cBut Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot. They asked her, %u2018Woman, why are you crying?%u2019 %u2018They have taken my Lord away,%u2019 she said, %u2018and I don't know where they have put him.%u2019 At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus. %u2018Woman,%u2019 he said, %u2018why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?%u2019 Thinking he was the gardener, she said, %u2018Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.%u2019 Jesus said to her, %u2018Mary.%u2019 She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, %u2018Rabboni!%u2019 meaning Teacher). Jesus said, %u2018Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers (brethren) and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: %u2018I have seen the Lord!%u2019 And she told them that he had said these things to her.%u201d (John 20:11-18).%u201cOn the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, %u2018Peace be with you!%u2019 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. Again, Jesus said, %u2018Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.%u2019 And with that he breathed on them and said, %u2018Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.%u2019%u201d (John 20:19-23).Christ, %u201cThe Son of the Living God%u201d (Matthew 16:15, 16) said to His disciples that He would create a group of %u201ccalled out people%u201d (church) that God would put into a Kingdom which would come with power during the lifetime of some present.He was more specific about the time His Kingdom would come when %u201che said to them, %u2018I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God come with power.%u2019%u201d (Mark 9:1).Compiler%u2019s Comment: Therefore, we see Christ would be establishing his church during the lifetime of some of his hearers. End Comment.Shortly after Jesus told Judas that he would betray Him, He said, %u201c%u2018You are those who have stood by me in my trials. And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me, so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.%u2019%u201d (Luke 22:28-30).Compiler%u2019s Comment: Some believe the apostles were put into Christ%u2019s church at this time as He appointed to them His Kingdom.As He was ready to return to God, the Father, \heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them
